Cañón Blanco

Utuado
The mountain river Río Caonillas cuts through a long section of white rock forming the stunning Cañón Blanco. There are multiple sections worth exploring in this immediate area but the main attraction is the section of canyon with 'El Sofa', a carved out boulder alongside one of the larger pools. Driving along the 140 you will see signs for 'El Sofa' at the turnoff. Follow this road and you will see a parking area for 10 cars about 100 yards (meters) past the small bridge. There's a trail at the beginning of this parking area that will take you to top of the canyon. We went on a perfect day, it had rained the day before and there was plenty of water flowing. There are many routes down to the pools, going to the far end seems to be the easiest. This is a short hike, but you will need to be able to navigate uneven rocky surfaces.
